IPSF at the World Health Assembly

IPSF holds official relations with the World Health Organization (WHO) and as a result, each year, is granted opportunities to attend official WHO events such as the WHO Executive Board (EB) Meeting and the World Health Assembly (WHA) in Geneva, Switzerland. Every year, IPSF sends representatives to these official events, where delegates attend various high-level meetings and panels and promote IPSF relations with other NGOs and stakeholders.

This year, from May 22 to 30, 2017, IPSF was represented by 30 delegates at the World Health Assembly. The IPSF delegation was able to pursue existing relations whilst establishing new partnerships with various stakeholders with a focus on global health, essential for the achievement of the Federation’s future goals. Furthermore, the delegation managed to highlight and emphasize the roles and contributions of pharmacists and pharmacy students as well as reinforce their integration in healthcare models by delivering several position statements.
