Possibilities include clinical (inpatient and outpatient), community, hospital, industry, informatics, research, and more.
Possibilities change year to year. A majority of the host sites have experiences in more than one area.
Length of training periods
Exchanges occur for 2 weeks to 1 month.
Available months and cities
Exchanges occur between May and September. APhA-ASP does not participate in Winter SEP. Cities change year to year. Unfortunately, students cannot request certain cities/states.

Type accommodation
Varies depending on the host site. Accommodations are no or low cost. Possibilities include other students, faculty/staff, preceptors, or alumni, or on-campus housing (i.e. dormitories).
Board, pocket money or other financial benefits/remuneration
Unfortunately, no money will be provided to the student.
Language requirements
Fluent English is REQUIRED.
Other requirements
Students must have completed at least 2 semesters to be eligible for placement.
Students will be required to sign a contract of participation stating that they will accept the conditions of participating in SEP with APhA-ASP.
Information on Work Permits and Visa
Please visit the following link for more information on visas: https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en.html. A tourism (B-2) visa or visa waiver is required. Students are NOT eligible for visas other than a tourism (B-2) visa for the purpose of SEP. Students from participating countries may be eligible for a visa waiver. An invitation letter will be provided upon request.
Selection Procedures
The deadline to apply is February 1st. Late applications may be considered if there are still placements.
APhA-ASP does not participate in bilateral exchanges. Students are matched to host sites based on availability and interest.
