Area possibilities

AEPHARM-Guinea aims to offer a research-oriented SEP experience through collaboration with the Centre de Recherche et de Formation en Infectiologie de Guinée (CERFIG), a major research and training centre in Guinea focusing on infectious diseases, biomedical research, clinical research, and public health.

The CERFIG offers exposure to several areas:

  1. Biomedical Sciences – Laboratory-based activities related to the diagnosis, surveillance, and study of emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases.
  2. Epidemiology and Clinical Research – Participation in the design, planning, implementation, and follow-up of epidemiological and clinical research projects.
  3. Human and Social Sciences – Exposure to research exploring health behaviours, access to care, community perceptions, epidemics, and the social dimensions of public health.
  4. Educational and Research Training – Opportunities to learn about research methodology and to interact with researchers, students, and professionals involved in epidemiology, microbiology, anthropology, and clinical research.

Although several placement possibilities may be developed in Guinea, this is the first year of SEP implementation within AEPHARM-Guinea as a Full Member. Therefore, we would like to begin with one well-structured placement opportunity at CERFIG rather than opening several placement sites at the same time.

Our priority is to ensure that the first exchange is properly organized, supervised, and sustainable. This first experience will serve as a foundation that future SEOs can gradually strengthen and expand by developing additional placements and partnerships in other areas of pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences.
