Area possibilities

A. Research at laboratories in School of Pharmacy Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB):

  • Pharmacology

  • Pharmacochemistry

  • Natural Products Pharmacy

  • Pharmaceutics

  • Pharmaceutical Microbiology and Biotechnology

B. Community Pharmacy at School of Pharmacy ITB's Teaching Pharmacy:

The SEP is credit-earning and can be converted to credits in the students' home university.

C. Industrial Pharmacy at collaborating pharmaceutical industries:

The SEP would be exclusive and tentative with the schedule being determined by the company themselves. Please contact the SEO to ensure availability of exchange dates!

D. Hospital Pharmacy at nearby collaborating hospitals:

The SEP would place the student in an internship program at a hospital nearby Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB). Please contact the SEO to ensure availability of exchange dates!

Length of training periods
  • For Research: 1 month - 2 months, could be reconsidered with the lecturer in charge.

  • For Community Pharmacy: 1st February - 15th February (2 weeks)

  • For Industrial and Hospital Placements: Minimum 1 month - 2 months, depending on the availability.

Available months and cities

The internship will take place in the ITB campus which is located in Bandung, a city in West Java.

Available period of Winter SEP:

Early February 2026 - Mid March 2026

Type accommodation

Several accommodation options include:

  • Hotels

  • Homestays

Choice of accommodation can be discussed with the SEO. The SEO will find the best accommodation that is suited to the students' individual budget!

Board, pocket money or other financial benefits/remuneration

Unfortunately, no pocket money or remuneration is provided by HMF 'AP' ITB Indonesia. Students have to prepare to pay a fee presented by the SEO that will cover:

  1. Accommodation

  2. Weekend trips

This fee is aimed to make the exchange more convenient for the student.

Additional expenses that are not covered by the fee but the student should prepare for are:

  1. Food and daily needs

  2. SIM Card (estimated at 40 Euro)

  3. Transportation (estimated at 1 Euro)

  4. Visa (estimated at 103 Euro)

Language requirements

Conversational-fluent English is required and Bahasa Indonesia is highly appreciated.

Information on Work Permits and Visa

The SEO will help you to arrange the visa by making an invitation letter and sponsor letter by the institute.

169 countries (including South-East Asian countries) do not need to have a visa to enter Indonesia for less than 30 days (while the first day arrival counted as 1 day). But a C9 visa is advised when students plan to stay in Indonesia for more than 30 days for internship.

The visa must be arranged 1 month before the exchange.
